Painting Italian Architecture

” If a building becomes architecture, then it is art.” Arne Jacobsen Having had a variety of commissions lately I have neglected my blog. Consequently I thought it was time to share one of my favourite recent projects. I painted some of the marvellous Italian architecture in Rome…and spent a long time indulging my love of travel in the name of research. This painting was commissioned by a lovely lady as a 20th anniversary gift for her Italian husband. It is composed of memorable places and landmarks in Rome which were chosen... Read The Rest →

Illustrated Wedding Invitations – Guards Chapel

My favourite thing about illustrating bespoke wedding invitations is that every commission is totally unique and part of a different journey. It is really exciting to be involved in wedding preparations, getting to know the bride and groom to be and learning about their vision for the wedding – from the venue to the dress. This was certainly true for the marriage of Lydia and Nick, that took place a couple of weeks ago at an incredible venue,  The Guards Chapel, Westminster, part of the Wellington Barracks in London. The Guards Chapel... Read The Rest →

Liberty Open Call 2016

I was thrilled and pretty nervous to be chosen by the fabulous Liberty of London to attend their open call for designers and makers last Saturday. I had sent in a photograph of my fine bone china ‘Moustaches on Parade’ mug to apply for a place on their ‘Best of British’ open call in December and was over the moon to have received an email invitation to attend on Christmas Eve. There was a lot of work to be done in a short amount of time, including preparing my 4... Read The Rest →

Autumnal Illustrated Menu for Nomadic Chefs

As you may remember from an earlier blog post, I have previously worked with Fleur Colvile, founder of Nomadic Chefs to design an illustrated menu. Here is a brief re-cap: Nomadic Chefs is a company that makes entertaining extraordinary by bringing professional chefs into your home so that you and your dinner guests can relax whilst enjoying restaurant quality food. I am delighted to share my latest creation for Nomadic Chefs- an illustrated, autumnal menu header, which features fresh, seasonal produce. I loved working with Fleur on this project, it was... Bespoke Illustrated Wedding Invitations

I love wedding stationery commissions, there is something really exciting about designing bespoke illustrated wedding invitations that become the first point of contact between the happy couple and their prospective guests. They are a little hint of what is to come, a snippet of the colours and themes of the wedding celebration and a reminder to pin up until the big day finally arrives! I had so much fun designing wedding invitations for Adam and Kizzie; they approached me as they wanted their invitees to receive all the information they needed,... Read The Rest →

Illustrated Menu designed for Nomadic Chefs

I’ve been looking forward to sharing an exciting project I’ve been cooking up with Fleur Colvile, founder of Nomadic Chefs for a while now … and it’s finally time to let the cat out of the bag. Nomadic Chefs is a company that makes entertaining extraordinary by bringing professional chefs into your home so that you and your dinner guests can relax whilst enjoying restaurant quality food. Fleur commissioned me to illustrate the menu for an exclusive pop up, a one off 5 course tasting menu paired with wine at... Read The Rest →

Crafty Fox Market, Autumn 2014

I have wanted to visit one of the unique Crafty Fox Markets, ever since I discovered their existence via Twitter, so I was thrilled to have my application for a Crafty Fox Uncovered stall accepted. Having never had a stall at a market, visited the Dogstar pub, where the event was held, or even Brixton before it felt like a real adventure! After an extremely busy month, several late nights and numerous attempts to pack everything into a couple of suitcases,  finally arriving at my table was very exciting! I... Read The Rest →

New Illustration Website!

I am delighted that, after weeks of work I have a shiny new website that I can finally share with you all.  Emma and Neil from En.joy create have been working hard on the web design and development in order to build the website and accurately represent me and my work. My portfolio website, which places emphasis on my illustrations and products, has been built using WordPress, with a responsive theme so users of mobile devices can view my work easily. This also means that I can control the content of the... Read The Rest →

Crafty Fox Market

I am looking forward to taking part in the Crafty Fox Autumn Market on 4th October at the Dogstar, Brixton, as part of the Crafty Fox Uncovered scheme. The scheme supports those who have been trading for less than 12 months with reduced price stalls and a mentor from within the Crafty Fox community. I was delighted to get a place and love the work of my mentor Alice Tams. I’m generally incapable of making choices but I think the pigeon in a top hat has to be my favourite... Read The Rest →

Chefs Galore Tea Towels

New Chefs Galore tea towels have arrived! A drawing of a chef with a moustache that I did one night inspired me to design a tea towel featuring many chefs, all with different facial hair. I kind of liked the idea that all of my chefs were very, very hairy, whilst finding a hair in your food is guaranteed to put you off eating it and a definite reason to lodge a complaint with the kitchen! I’ve always listened to audio books whilst drawing and a particular favourite when I... Read The Rest →
