Natural Form Workshop
Working as an Art Technician at a secondary school gives me the opportunity to run many exciting workshop projects. This summer I was asked to work with one of our feeder primary schools to produce a piece of work to celebrate the 200th birthday of their patron – Father Faber. The workshops that I planned were based around a natural form theme to reflect the school’s rural location and historical schemes of work. Workshops encompassed drawing, printmaking and card relief collages. Working from primary and secondary sources the students produced some gorgeous images, which were mounted onto long strips of fabric, hung on display and also made into an oversized book; structured around a poem that was popular many years ago. Below are some photographs of the hanging and the book. Students had a thoroughly enjoyable day discovering new ways of working.
